What is it about?
“Who made me a Princess” is a webtoon about a woman waking up as “Athanasia”, the princess in the “novel” she was just reading. Unfortunately, according to the book, Athanasia is bound to be killed by the hands of her very own father – the emperor!
The story then dwells on Athanasia’s adventures and tactics to make sure she escapes her doomed fate – and that includes sweet-talking her way into her father’s frozen heart!
What is the genre of the story?
In TappyToon, where the story is originally published, it is labeled as romance, comedy and fantasy.
What is there to love about?
- Visuals – Everything is a feast for the eyes, I tell you! The art is super good and it knows exactly which scenes should be cute and detailed! Colors are nice. And do I need to tell you that Claude (the Emperor) and Athanasia’s eyes are so lovely? Plus, there are a lot of tasty-looking characters over here, men and women alike! O///O
- Plot – If you think it’s all just fluff, then you’re wrong! It may start of as something that’s only cute but it really gets interesting as the plot thickens, especially when the events start to diverge from what was originally written in the “novel”.
How is the father-daughter relationship in there?
It’s so cutesy it feels like a marshmallow melting! The first few chapters mostly consist of Athy trying to build a relationship with his father. I’m certain there’d be a lot of scenes where you’d wish you’d have a daddy like Claude ^_^ And don’t ya worry, nothing incestuous here (in case you’re sick of that). The romance tag isn’t for the both of them. It’s ultimately for Athy… and some other.
What is the status of the story?
It’s still ongoing. As of today (April 29, 2019), there are 28 episodes available. Update comes every friday of the week.
Spoilers, please?
Athy has this half-sis named Jenette. In the “novel”, Jenette was recognized and loved by Claude as his only daughter. Athy was despised by Claude and was killed by him because someone framed her by poisoning Jenette.
As of now, we haven’t really saw much of Jenette yet. But the way things are going, readers are speculating that Athy and Jenette might have switched places, with Athy now being the beloved daughter.
Any rants?
Just three words. “I. WANT. CLAUDE!!!!!!”
Oh, and Felix as well. He’s cool, too.
Anyway, Jenette’s starting to have some screen time. Based on what I read so far, she’s a goody-two-shoes who makes everything around her seem bright. She’s beautiful, too (although I like Athy’s looks better). I dunno, but I’m kinda expecting her to be a selfish freak deep inside.
Or maybe I’m wrong and she’s really a kind person. Unfortunately, I like my characters with a sass and a lil bit of evil in them lol. Well, let’s just see in the next few chapters if she’s actually quite likeable or nah.
